Caffeine and Octane is this weekend at 7Am Sunday Sept 2, 2012! Pre-meet at Cracker Barrel at 6AM

Carolina //M Fest 2012 Saturday Sept 8, 2012

The Carolina //M Fest will be Saturday September 8, in Lewisville NC at the Westbend Vineyards and Brewhouse.  There may be a group going up there but I don't have any information on that as of yet.  If there is a group departing from Atlanta I will let you know.  It should be a great event as most //M-Fest normally are.  I will get in touch with the groups here in Atlanta to see who may be participating.  Are any shops in Atlanta planning to caravan to M-Fest?  If so please reach out to me so I can post the information.

Atlanta Motorsports Park Tour Recap

Guys and Gals,

If you missed the AMP tour on Sunday you missed a doozie!  After driving 5 hours from Destin on Saturday night, I got up and forced myself to go to the AMP tour and I am so glad I did.  Bruce and Jeremy from AMP allowed us to do 5 parade laps around the track and then the offered us 20 minute HOT LAPS for a small fee!   I rode in Brian's e90 M3 and it was a beast.  We hit 108 and 110 a few times near the straight away.  I had my helmet on and this was my first time actually riding on a track at normal track speeds.   I must say I sort of caught the bug and I might have to get me a track car(WIFE will never let that happen!).   But we all had a blast and about 20 to 21 cars showed up, including a Mini Cooper.   If there is a next time don't miss out!  If you are interested in a membership with AMP contact Bruce at bruce@100mphlunch.com.  I will post pics later this week.

The pre-meet for the Atlanta Motorsports Park tour on Sunday July 8 will be at the North Georgia Premium Outlets in front of Saks 5th Ave at 1PM.   Chris from A-Town MClub will be leading the group over to AMP for the 2PM tour.  I will not be able to make this tour unfortunately because I will be on my anniversary vacation.  However if anything miraculously changes I will let you guys know.

Timmayfest 2012 - Columbus Ohio June 8-10 2012

WHAT IS TIMMAYFEST?

Timmayfest is a BMW/Mercedes Benz/Exotics car meet put together by true enthusiasts. It is not a car "show" and there is no entrance fee. It is just a gathering of people who share a passion for high performance driving machines.

WHY?

Timmayfest really started out as a small BMW/Mercedes car meet of people who only knew each other by talking over online car forums such as M5board.com, Ohiobimmers.com, and MBworld.com. We decided it was finally time to get together and really meet the people behind the computer screen. We chose to hold it in Columbus, Ohio since it was a central location to those involved. I volunteered to organize it along with help from a few other local guys (thanks Marcus) and MAJOR support from Eurocharged (THANK YOU!). Jokingly, we named it "Timmayfest" after my screen name I use on the before mentioned forums, Timmay77, which against my better judgement, it has remaind. Well, the word spread that there was going to be a car meet in Ohio through other online forums, thus growing. We managed to put together 130 cars the first year (2010), and over 200 the second year (2011). We had cars attending from as far away as Rancho Cucamonga, CA, 2 years in a row!

WHAT TO EXPECT THE WEEKEND OF TIMMAYFEST.

2010 was basically just a car meet/dyno day on a Saturday which included Eurocharged's mobile dyno followed by a dinner that evening. In 2011, we added a "Drag Racing Night" on Friday night at a privately rented drag stip, had the meet on Saturday, then dinner on Saturday night. The decision was made to add the "Drag Racing Night" so people had the opportunity to SAFELY and LEGALLY have some fun in these amazing cars. We also had a lunch gathering before heading to the drag strip, caravan style. Eurocharged graciously picked up the tab for the drag strip rental. There was no charge to attend and watch the action, but those who wanted to run down the track paid a $50 fee for as many runs as they wanted. Saturday's meet started pretty early at 10am. We wanted to start earlier in 2011 so we could meet, hang out for a few hours, and finish up with the raffle drawing around 4pm. We then let people head back to their hotel to relax and freshen up before dinner at 7pm. (For 2012 we will be hiring a police escort to caravan us "parade style" from the Hilton Hotel to the restaurant.) After dinner, a large group of us headed back to the hotel to enjoy some social time in the hotel bar.

Caffeine and Octane is tomorrow Sunday May 6. It is off of Windward Parkway near Mambo Jambo restaurant. There will be a pre-meet hosted by A-Town M Club at the Waffle House on Old Milton Parkway right off of Ga 400.  It is the one next to a gas station immediately off the freeway.  If you are coming from downtown make a right off the exit.
