Caffeine and Octane is Sunday January 1st 2012 7AM - 11AM

Hey guys and gals.  Caffeine and Octane is here again, and it is Sunday January 1st, 2012.  This one is going to be interesting because plenty of people will be partying the night before. So I'm wondering how the turnout will be.   But I think it should still be pretty good.  I don't think I'm going to party. My wife and I are going to do something simple.  So I should be there.  It will be at the same location as last month, Its off of Windward Parkway west of 400. We’ve got access to 2 lots. One in front of an office building, and the other around a group of restaurants. One of those eateries, Mambo Jambo will be open for breakfast.

Finally after struggling to find my camera cord....LOL...I have pics of the December meet.  A couple of them came out a little fuzzy and some of them I should've used my flash but I'm not a photographer and I'll do better next time.  LOL But I will post them anyway.  We had guys and gals from Butler Tire, M-Atlanta, ATown-M3, Bimmerforums,  JSCO from South Carolina's BMW crew(car picutred above) and the usual E90Post and M3Post  crews together for a great meet.  We started at the Varsity and then we cruised to Dantana's for a bite to eat and some chat time about our Bimmers.  It was all great fun and I look forward to seeing everyone at the next one!

M-Atlanta Track Day: Talladega Grand Prix Raceway (Wednesday, December 28th)

• When: Wednesday, December 28, 2011
• Where: Talladega Grand Prix Raceway (http://www.tgprace.com/)
• Track Session from: 8am-5pm
• Registration Opens: Wednesday, December 14, 2011
• Deposits are $50 and can be made in cash at Sun Tinting or PayPal to my email address (call or pm for details)
• Deposits are due by 12/21 to ensure you have a spot reserved (Registration Closes 12/26)
• Balance of fees will be collected at the track
• Planning to meet around 6:30 am on 12/28 at the QT at 291 SIX FLAGS DR., AUSTELL, GA 30168 to caravan over to the track
• Depending on total participants, groups of 3 – 5 cars will do 20 – 25 min per session
• Helmets are required (motorcycle min.) We are trying to work out a group buy for SA2010 helmets from a local sponsor
• Convertibles are allowed on the track but NOT with passengers
• We will try to assist with getting tires mounted prior to leaving for the track
• Lunch and beverages will be provided by M-Atlanta at the track
• A photo CD will be offered after the event by Elijah Sumrall Automotive Media Network (for $10 each)
• All track rules must be complied with or your day will end early

ATLBIMMERS END OF THE YEAR MONTHLY MEET WAS GREAT!

 


This was the last monthly meet of the year and it was a great one.  Lots of new faces came out. Thanks a bunch to JSCO from E90Post for coming out and repping South Carolina to the fullest. Also thanks to the M-Atlanta crew from the M5Board for bringing out all of those M5's. Thanks to Dorian and his crew for bringing out all those M3's and M5's.  Thanks to my buddy bhbfalcons from M3Post for scouting out the location before we got there. The M's were really representing today. We had guys and gals from Bimmerforums and a couple of the Butler Tire guys came through and represented as well.  This was a very good effort to merging all of the many groups in Atlanta and it was great networking.  Thanks also to Dantanas for taking care of us for dinner and to the security guy at The Shops at Lenox for making sure we don't get booted :)      The cruise-in was a lot of fun pushing it on GA 400 for those few miles. I tried to floor it but the M's were right on my tail. My poor lil 328 was screaming and the M's were just purring along. I will post all of my pics on http://atlbimmers.blogspot.com via flicker in a couple of days.  Also sorry for all the confusion about the location, but Dantanas worked out very well.

****2nd UPDATE: PLEASE READ THOROUGHLY****** ATLBIMMERS MONTHLY MEET AND CRUISE-IN BACK-UP LOCATION

Because there MAY BE holiday traffic concerns.  I am coming up with a backup location JUST IN CASE Dantana's doesn't work out.  Slacks is the back-up location.  Slacks located in The Town Brookhaven plaza.  Their address is  305 Brookhaven Avenue  Atlanta, GA 30319. They are sort of in the cut behind the apartments on the right side but in front of Costco. I think this is a decent spot because there is plenty of parking and it's away from the madness of Lenox.  So if we can't do Dantana's then we will do Slack's.  The cruise-in is STILL IN PLACE at the VARSITY between 3:30-4:00pm.
